  John Pino contacted me through a request for a handyman on Thumbtack. The request form detailed what I needed to have done, when I needed it done, what city I lived in, and it stated that the contractor would have to travel to my home to do the job. I needed someone to make some custom brackets for a glass shelf I wanted to hang, a pretty small job. Mr. PIno contacted me and he assured me he could do it, no problem. We emailed back and forth all day long regarding what I wanted and what his ideas were for getting it done, and he promised he could do the job in the time frame I requested, but when I asked him to give me a quote, he said I would have to hire him first. He said he didn't have enough information (even though we spoke about it in detail all day long and it was just a simple thing). He said he would have to see it, but he wouldn't come and see it because I lived too far away to justify the fuel costs. I live 40 miles away, and he knew that from the beginning. If it was too far, he should not have answered my ad. The ad said the contractor would have to come to my house to do the job. When I offered to pay him to come and give me an estimate, he abruptly made himself "unavailable" and I could no longer communicate with him. He tied me up all day long telling me he could do the job and discussing with me how he could do it. He knew from my request form exactly where I lived, he knew it was a small job, and he knew I needed it done by Christmas. All day long he said he was the guy for the job, then abruptly "hung up on me" when I was ready to hire him. He wasted a whole day of my time, and then it was very difficult to find someone else to do it in such a short time. I found this man to be rude, unprofessional, and just plain weird.
